Freight House - Paducah

We had dinner here while visiting Paducah and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was great and the interior was a nice combination of rustic and contemporary. Many original building elements remain. Our server was attentive and service was quick despite it being at capacity during our visit. Our waiter was also very informative when my wife asked about several craft cocktails and was happy to offer a few recommendations. The craft cocktail menu is extensive and offers both classic and unique options. We started with the PB & J meatballs, and they were great. I would have never thought to combine peanuts with meatballs, but it worked really well. My wife had the pork tenderloin and it was exceptional. It was cooked perfectly and had a really nice flavor which was complex without being too busy. Even her Lima beans, which I normally don’t enjoy, were really good. I had the braised pork shoulder and that was also packed with flavor. It came with bacon fat cornbread, black eyed peas, and greens, and every element worked together perfectly. I would definitely recommend reservations as it was very busy and I’m not sure you would get a table without one. Overall, a great experience. If we’re ever back in the area we’d definitely eat here again.
